Visit the impressive wrecks of the Northern Red Sea, and dive in some of the most stunning reefs.
Highlights…
Ras Muhammed
Due to the breath taking coral reef eco-systems, the teeming marine life and the plenitude of coral species, Ras Mohammed is considered to be the crown-jewel of the Red Sea. The area is 480 square kilometres including both land and sea. The area encompasses the desert in and around the headland, Tiran Island and the shoreline between Nabq Protectorate and Sharm el Sheikh.
More than 50,000 visitors from all around the globe come here annually to revel in the untouched beauty of these waters where most of the Red Sea’s species of fish can be seen, including sought-after hammerheads, manta rays and whale sharks are just a few of the many sought after species that reside in the area along with most of the Red Sea’s marine species!
Straits of Tiran
Situated at the beginning of the Gulf of Aqaba, The Straits of Tiran is one of the best sites in the area. The four coral reefs in the area, Jackson Reef, Woodhouse Reef, Thomas Reef and Gordon Reef, named after British cartographers, are renown for the astounding array of corals and marine life.
Due to the typically strong currents, species such as Barracuda, Jackfish, Tuna and Sharks are attracted to these waters. Even sights of sharks, turtles and other big fish are possible. However these conditions require good diving skills to be able to navigate the waters safely.
SS Thistlegorm Wreck
The SS Thistlegorm is considered to be one of the best wreck dive sites by many divers all over the world. Its rising popularity is understandable considering the wide array of artefacts that lie with the ship.
SS Thistlegorm was a WWII 415 steamship that was sunk while it was on its way to deliver supplies to the British troops. Those supplies include army trucks, jeeps, motorbikes, rifles, two locomotives and two tanks that you can see while exploring the wreck!
